On the Subject of the Debates

The Beeman for Congress campaign is prepared to debate Kelly and/or Dinacola anytime, anywhere.

There is a debate scheduled for  Monday, October 8th, 2018 at  D’Angelo Performing Arts Center on the campus of Mercyhurst University, starting at 7 p.m.

As of right now, Tuesday September 18th, 2018 no one from  Mercyhurst University, the  Manufacturer and Business Association , WJET -TV or WQLN - TV have contacted the Beeman for Congress campaign.

Under the Tax Code, nonprofits are not permitted to engage in partisan political activity. Under FCC regulations Broadcast Television stations are required to operate in the public interest. Both corporations and nonprofits are prohibited under the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 from making campaign contributions to political candidates.

Debates are not news! You can report news based on them but in and of themselves, they aren’t news. If general election debates are organized in a partisan manner,  the sponsors are in violation of the BCRA since they are making in kind corporate contributions to the DiNicola and Kelly Campaigns. DiNicola and Kelly are themselves also in violation for accepting the illegal contributions.  Should we not be permitted to participate, complaints will be filed with the Federal Election Commission against the offenders.
